TVA has initiated its Electric Load Curtailment Plan (ELCP) Step 10 of the TVA/TVPPA Emergency Load Curtailment Program. This plan asks all customers in the TVA service territory to conserve their use of electric power as much as possible beginning June 29, 2023, by reducing non-essential electric usage. This plan helps protect a stable power grid during times of excessive demand – such as during extreme heat. Customers can help by turning off unnecessary lights, adjusting air conditioning thermostats when not at home, and unplugging appliances and devices not frequently used. Conservation during the hours of 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. are to continue until notified by TVA. For more information, please contact Maryville Electric at 865-273-3300.
