Beginning October 1, city of Maryville utility customers will notice their utility billing statements have a different look. This easier-to-read format is a result of the City’s move to a new utility billing provider. The new provider offers a variety of improvements to the City and its utility customers, including this improved statement, faster processing and the ability for us to track statements and delivery. Early next year, a new billing portal will offer a more user-friendly interface with additional options for convenience. More information about the portal will be available later this year. For more information or questions about a utility bill, visit maryvillegov.com or contact customer service at 273-3456.

Maryville Water and Sewer Department will have Woodthrush Drive closed today until approximately 2 p.m. to repair a water main break. Local traffic will need to enter from Robin Road.
Update 9/26/19
Sensors at Court Street have been restored, but will require final paving to be complete before back to 100% efficiency. Montvale was replaced but work continues there tonight. Broadway Ave, Home Ave, and Watkins are in progress, sensors have not been replaced yet. Posted 9/25/19 Traffic signals have been affected by the TDOT US 321 resurfacing project in the city. TDOT contractor, APAC-Harrison is performing the resurfacing work. Part of the process includes grinding the existing surface which destroys the vehicle sensor loops installed under the surface. As the grinding moves through the city, several traffic signals will be impacted. A TDOT contractor is responsible for repairing the sensors after the grinding is complete. We understand the sensor repair work will take up to two weeks. Maryville-Alcoa Central Traffic Operations personnel will adjust traffic signals to operate as efficiently as possible, but without the vehicle sensor loops, the signals will not be functioning as efficiently. The entire resurfacing project is expected to be complete by late October. Motorists should allow extra time for travel while this work is in progress. For more information, contact 273-3500. City of Maryville Police and Fire Chief Tony Crisp announced the city will be under a burn ban for the time being.
According to Chief Crisp, “Fire season officially starts October 15, but due to the lack of rain over the past several weeks, the potential exists for fires to ignite and spread quickly.” Crisp added, “Out of an abundance of caution, and following the lead of some other communities, we have issued the temporary burn ban until conditions improve.” Any open burning requires a permit from the City of Maryville Fire Department. No burn permits will be issued during this ban period. A burn ban restricts any outdoor open flame burning within the city limits.
