The Sandy Springs Recycling Center located at 715 Best Street will be closed to the public on Friday, May 19. Asphalt crews will be placing the final asphalt paving surface at the recycling center, as well as paving a section of Best Street from Montvale Station Road to Parkside Drive. Traffic on Best Street will be allowed under flagging operations. The recycling center will re-open Saturday, May 20 with regular business hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Improvements to the park include light replacements and additions, parking lot reconfiguration and rehabilitation, basketball court resurfacing, trail widening and resurfacing, and new bench, table, and playground equipment installations.
Amerine Park is a 7-acre park located on Amerine Road in East Maryville. The facilities include a walking trail, a basketball court, softball and soccer fields, and playground equipment. The park will be closed to the public during the renovations. It is expected to re-open by July 1, 2023. The City of Maryville Engineering and Public Works Department and the Water and Sewer Department will have Best Street closed from Karrow Street to Montvale Station Road on Wednesday, May 10. Crews will be repairing a water line as well as the asphalt beginning at 7 a.m. The closure is expected to remain in place for most of the day or until all repairs are completed.

The City of Maryville will have a section of Sequoyah Avenue closed from Brentwood Drive to Westfield Drive Tuesday, May 9, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Traffic will be rerouted to Brentwood Drive and Westfield Drive during the closure. Detour signs will be present.

Music lovers are invited to enjoy a free evening concert in Maryville’s Theatre in the Park featuring the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and Resident Conductor James Fellenbaum. Picnic blankets, lawn chairs, food, and drinks are welcome. This event is free and open to the public.
